I am deeply grateful to Dr. Brian Palafox for giving me a second chance at life. On July 13, 2026, he performed a four-vessel coronary artery bypass graft surgery on me. Because some of my coronary arteries were extremely small—approximately 1.5 mm—the procedure was especially complex and challenging. Despite this, Dr. Palafox completed the surgery successfully with exceptional skill, precision, and experience. He also carefully determined that an LAA clip procedure would be beneficial and performed it during the same operation. Before surgery, Dr. Palafox explained the procedure clearly and thoroughly, which gave me tremendous confidence and peace of mind. After surgery, he personally visited my hospital room, closely monitored my recovery, and showed genuine compassion and concern. My recovery has been remarkable. Just a few days after leaving the hospital, I was able to return to my office and meet with friends. I truly believe Dr. Palafox gave me not only a healthier heart, but also a renewed life. He is an outstanding surgeon and a deeply caring physician. I will always be grateful to him and his entire medical team, and I recommend him with the highest confidence.

I’m extremely satisfied with my open heart surgery. Everything went as expected. Miriam did a great job with making my appointments, setting up my labs and what to expect after the surgery. Not going to lie, this whole “adventure” in life has been very scary. My husband had to have quintuple bypass surgery at 55 years old. Working with Dr. Sareh was truly a God send. He was more than AMAZING! He genuinely cares about his patients. He took the time to explain every step in detail, and in layman’s terms. He is extremely professional, personable and educated. Miriam in his office is Wonderful as well. They not only treated the patient with empathy, dignity and respect, they treated the family that way as well. Open heart mitral valve repair by Dr. Fowler at St. Joe’s Orange. Surgeon was excellent, explained everything and surgery went very well. Recommend the surgeon and hospital highly.

I m lucky

I have so much appreciation to Dr. Sohail Sareh for the open-heart surgery he completed on me. I had five bypasses with no complications. I am going on 5 weeks post op with no pain or issues. I was walking the day after surgery. He told me he would operate on me as if I was one of his family members. He made me feel so comfortable and safe. Very grateful of him and the staff that works with him.

My son has been going to Dr. Palafox for over 20 years now. He’s an amazing doctor and a wonderful person. The front office is always very friendly. I highly recommend Orange County Thoracic Cardiovascular.
